I just bought an iPad 24 hours ago and I noticed the dead pixel immediately. The pixel is located in an annoying place, for me at least, and the Apple Store would not replace it. He said that since the screen is so large when they cut it that it's a common occurrence. I think I'm going to take it to a different store and try to get it replaced through them.
