Apple Executives to Visit UK Telecom Companies

Apple executives will arrive in the U.K. this week for talks with mobile network operators O2, Orange, and Vodaphone regarding the details of the iPad launch. The talks are scheduled to begin sometime this week and continue into next week.

Among the topics on the table is a specific launch date and the selling price of the iPad in the UK, which has yet to be determined. The iPad will be released in the United States on April 3rd, but the UK and other overseas launch dates are still simply stated by Apple as "late April".

Though earlier reports claimed the UK's big three telecom companies were competing for the iPad, Apple -- unlike in 2007 with the iPhone -- is not expected to select a single provider, but rather is expected strike deals with all three companies.

There is no indication on whether Apple and UK telecom executives plan to announce the results of next week's talks immediately after they conclude, or later down the road. For now, iPad hopefuls overseas will have to wait a bit longer to find out when the iPad will hit their shores.
