Retailer Best Buy is sold out of the Apple iPad. For those looking to purchase the device at one of the 673 stores with Apple shops, the company expects a replenishment of iPads on Sunday, April 11. Best Buy stores are said to have launched the iPad on April 3rd with only five of each iPad model in stock, a total of 15 per store.

The Apple Store has no such inventory problems to date. Pre-ordering online for the iPad Wi-Fi + 3G model is still open, although a ship date for the cellular data-capable model has not been announced by Apple. The model is scheduled to be delivered in "late April" and it's unclear whether or not Best Buy will have these in stock immediately.

The big-box retailer does carry a full suite of iPad accessories, including the USB power adapter, dock connector to VGA cable, Apple iPad case, keyboard dock, and the iPad dock.

Best Buy stores are expected to receive another 15 units each on April 11, although this will be dependent upon Apple inventories and sales. Best Buy's April 11 advertising circulars will feature the iPad on the front cover.

The company's website now features the iPad on the front page, along with disclaimers stating "Available for purchase at the Apple Shop within select Best Buy stores. Limited quantities. No rainchecks." Best Buy has not indicated whether or not iPad sales will be added to their website in the near future. Currently, the only way to buy an iPad online is through the Apple Store website.

There were rumors that an iPad Wi-Fi + 3G demo unit would be on display at Best Buy stores starting on April 3, however these units failed to materialize.
