I do not agree with this petition. Apple's own tests indicate leaving FLASH enabled causes the iPad to last only 1.5 hours. I would not even consider buying the iPad if the battery life was no more than any decent laptop.

Further I hate FLASH as it is used to force all kinds of programmed trickery on us with pop-up overlays that move around as you try to read some essential information. If one was so uneducated to click on them to get rid of the annoyance they may be unintentionally giving the OS permission to install malware. I get rid of many of those ads by hitting refresh. Sometimes that doesn't work.

Have you seen the new FLASH pop ups and overlays on YouTube videos? Email the video link to yourself and look at it on the iPhone. That crap on the exact same video isn't there as the iPhone doesn't do FLASH! It has gotten so bad I have to do this on some longer tech videos I want to see without the distraction.

This has become routine, find video on desktop computer - see garbage added by FLASH - email link to myself on iPhone - pick up iPhone wand watch video! This is faster for me than trying to locate the new YouTube page without FLASH for that particular video.
