Some Apple iPad Accessories Shipping Late

Unfortunately for those who have pre-ordered an iPad, some of Apple's accessories will not be ready to ship on April 3rd. As of yet, the Camera Connection Kit ($29) has not even been listed on Apple's online store.

Accessories shipping late include the iPad Case, Keyboard Dock, and 10W USB Power Adapter. The iPad Case costs $39 and will not ship from Apple's online store until mid-April.

The Keyboard Dock ($69) and Power Adapter ($29) are listed as shipping in May. Previously, the Keyboard Dock was expected to ship in mid-April and the Power Adapter in late April.

The iPad Keyboard Dock is a charging dock attached to a full-sized keyboard. The Keyboard Dock includes an audio jack for external speakers and a rear 30-pin connector. When the iPad is docked, the 30-pin connector can be used to connect to an electrical outlet with the USB Power Adapter and sync to a computer.

Those iPad accessories that will be ready for April 3rd include the iPad Dock ($29) and the Dock Connector to VGA Adapter ($29).

With the iPad Dock Connector to VGA Adapter the iPad can be connected to a video projector or external monitor at a resolution of 1024 x 768. One end of the cable is a female DE-15 VGA connector. The other end will link directly to an iPad or iPad dock via the 30-pin connector.

iPad models featuring Wi-Fi only are slated for delivery on April 3rd. The iPad Wi-Fi + 3G will ship in late April. Unofficial reports of iPad sales have estimated over 150,000 units were purchased since pre-ordering began on April 12.
