Does the iPad support A2DP?
Yes, the iPad will support the Bluetooth A2DP profile.
The iPhone received A2DP support with iPhone OS 3.0. The iPad will run iPhone OS 3.2, which also includes full A2DP support.

Where are you getting the information iPhone supports a2dp because it doesn't you can use some headsets but you can't play music through Bluetooth devices
Actually the iPhone does support A2DP along with the iPad. For everyone else using motorola products such as the S9 product line connect and pair the blutooth product with the iPad or iPhone using the pair code 0000 than turn the iPhone iPad completely off via holding the power button and sliding power off wait about 2 mins while system is off. Turn your Bluetooth headset off and turn the iPhone or iPad back on make sure Bluetooth is on, turn your headset back on and the iPhone and iPad will automatically connect to it. Also for iPhone and iPad owners make sure only one of your devices Bluetooth is on or neither will connect because your headset is undetermined on which to connect to. That has worked for me and everyone I have helped.
Are you saying that I must load iPhone OS onto the iPad in order to use A2DP? If yes, how do I get the iPhone OS onto the iPad and will this conflict with iPad apps? Help! twong@Calgary.ca
I purchased a BlueBridge mobile speaker and it paired fine with my iPad. I can play music fine. But the controls will not step to next song or previous song. Volume of course works fine, but that is local to the speaker device itself. The only button that works is the play/pause button.
But as far as pairing and listening to music it works as advertised.
This is likely because avrcp support wasn't completed for the iOS until 4.1 came out.. when iOS 4.2 for the iPad ships it's likely it'll contain AVRCP support and you'll be able to step to next and previous songs.
