How much data does Tuner streaming radio use on the iPad 3G?
Tuner Internet Radio ($4.99) streams online radio stations when connected to a 3G cellular data network. We ran an independent test to see exactly how much bandwidth the Tuner application would require.
Music was played continuously from four different radio stations (all 128 kbps) over the course of 60 minutes.
Tuner data usage results:
Sent: 1.5 MB
Received: 59 MB
Total: 60.5 MB

It would be interesting to know at the low end of the radio streaming spectrum (24 or 32 kbps) what that data hit would be. Is it safe to assume 60.5 MB / 5.33 = 11.3 MB ?
