What does the plus sign (+) mean in the Apple App Store?

Some applications in the App Store have little plus symbols (+) in front of their icons in iTunes. This means the marked app is designed for the iPad AND iPhone/iPod touch.

Apple calls these all-in-one applications universal apps.
