iPad screen protector..can I wash it?

I stupidly(?) removed my screen protector because I had a few bubbles that were bugging me.. Now instead of a few I have millions.. Can/should I wash it.. if so how, or do I have to go buy a new one? Ahh the genius ideas I get sometimes...
