iWork on the iPad?

I've seen a number of blogs saying the iPad won't do office productivity apps well ... didn't they make a custom version of iWork for the iPad, or did I dream that?

They did. IMHO can't see it working well without multiple windows.

What makes you think it won't have multiple windows?

Yeah are you saying you think you won't be able to work on multiple documents at once? I can't see this being the case.

Maybe Packard is under the impression that the lack of multitasking on the iPad is going to limit the usefulness of the iWork app ...

I can't see Apple letting this happen, I think it will be able to do multiple docs easily.

With no multitasking you can't have Safari or anything else open while you're typing a paper in iWork. So you can't really flip between windows to do research, etc.

quick save on home button press + auto resume on return to iwork should take care of that issue pretty much seamlessly. i wouldn't sweat it.

I find Pages and Numbers on the iPad to be useful applications; Keynote is a bit disappointing - transitions and fonts are limited compared to the full version. I'll still have to use my MacBook for presentations.
