I always thought catalogs were invented so men could keep softcore porn around without their girlfriends or wives noticing, but Google seems to think people use them for shopping.
Google has teamed up with a number of brands like Pottery Barn, Saks Fifth Avenue and Williams-Sonoma, to offer catalog shopping on the iPad. The name says it all, the Google Catalogs app allows iPad owners to peruse store catalogs. You can watch videos, bookmark interesting products and send birthday hints to your family and friends.
Google describes it as a "new, rich, and engaging way to interact with all your favorite catalogs." I describe it as a fancy way to buy more junk that you probably don't need.
The Google Catalogs app is free in the iTunes app store.
