Apple says all its latest iPad models have "up to 10 hours of surfing the web on Wi‑Fi, watching video, or listening to music," and "up to 9 hours of surfing the web using a cellular data network". However, according to iFixt, the iPad Air has a "15 percent smaller battery" than previous models.
Apple claims that the iPad Air 2 has the same battery life as its predecessors due to its A8X chip and software improvements, but some reviewers have discovered otherwise. For example, Walt Mossberg from Recode said that the iPad Air 2 did last over 10 hours after his "tough battery test," but the original iPad Air 2 had a better battery life of up to 90 minutes longer.
Other reviewers have said that the iPad Air 2 features the same battery life as the original, and all seem to agree that Apple's claim of "up to 10 hours" is mostly accurate.
Remember, your device's battery life depends on how you use it, and you can now see what apps are draining your battery with iOS 8.
