Flappy Bird's overnight success was short lived after developer Dong Nguyen deleted the game from the App Store on 02/09/13. It is unknown why the game was pulled, but Nguyen said it was not due to "legal reasons."

The simplistic game became an internet phenomenon due to its high level of difficulty and blatant plagiarism of Nintendo's Super Mario Bros.. The game is also known for being one of the worst games to ever reach the number one spot on both Apple and Google's app store charts. Nguyen said in an interview that the game was making $50,000 a day from in-app ads and only took 3-days to create.
In the game, players must tap their display to help a tiny bird flap its wings while navigating through a maze of green pipes. The game resets anytime the bird touches an object.
