The rivalry between TaiG and PP reached new heights today after iOS 8.4 was released to the public by Apple. The PP team quickly released a jailbreak tool for the new OS only hours after its official release. The TaIG team, who claims PP stole its code, then released their own iOS 8.4 jailbreak tool an hour or two after the first jailbreak was made available. Now iPad and iPhone owners have two options to choose from when jailbreaking their devices.
TaiG and PP may have also broken a record for the fastest jailbreak release in the history of iOS hacking. Apple released iOS 8.4 with its new Apple Music streaming service on June 30, 2015 at 11am Eastern. The PP Jailbreak was released approximately around 3pm Eastern, and TaiG v.2.2.0 followed only a few hours later. It took the evad3rs a few months to jailbreak iOS 6.0, as a comparison.
iPad and iPhone owners can download TaiG v.2.2.0 from taig.com. This version jailbreaks all devices running iOS 8.1.3-8.4. It is currently only available for Windows, but an OS X version should be released soon. You can follow our TaiG v.2.0.0 jailbreak instrcutions to jailbreak your device. Just make sure you download v.2.2.0 f you plan to upgrade to iOS 8.4.
The PP jailbreak is also only available for Windows. You can download the PP jailbreak tool here.
Remember, Cydia will probably have to be updated for tweaks to work with iOS 8.4. You can follow @saurik for Cydia updates.
