Universal Pictures has released the first official trailer for the upcoming Steve Jobs biopic written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by Danny Boyle. The films stars Michael Fassbender as Jobs and Seth Rogen as Steve Wozniak.
"Set backstage at three iconic product launches and ending in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac, 'Steve Jobs' takes us behind the scenes of the digital revolution to paint an intimate portrait of the brilliant man at its epicenter."
The film also stars Kate Winslet as Joanna Hoffman, former marketing chief of Macintosh, Jeff Daniels as former Apple CEO John Sculley and Katherine Waterston as Jobs’ ex-girlfriend, Chrisann Brennan.
Steve Jobs is the second film to be released after the Apple CEO's death in 2011 (not counting the 2013 Justin Long parody iSteve). Open Road Films released Jobs in 2013 starring Ashton Kutcher, but the film was DOA at the box office and universally panned by both fans and critics. You can see a complete list of movies based on Steve Jobs here, including the cult favorite, Pirates of Silicon Valley.
Steve Jobs will hit theaters on October 9, 2015. You can learn more about the film at the official website stevejobsthefilm.com.
