Apple acknowledges iPad Pro bug, releases support document

Apple last week released a support document acknowledging that some iPad Pro models are freezing for an unknown reason. The support document was released after Apple support forums and other social sharing sites such as Reddit started filling up with complaints about unresponsive iPad Pro models. The problem seems to occur mostly after a user charges his or her iPad Pro.

Users are reporting that the screen of their iPad Pro models remain black after charging and that touching the display or Home button will not wake the device. Apple said users affected by the problem can force a restart by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. This will restart your iPad Pro and work as an interim fix until Apple releases a final solution to the problem.

The official Apple support document says the company is "aware of this issue and is investigating."

It is unknown if this is a hardware problem or software bug, but iPhone 6s users have been complaining about a simular issue. iPhone 6s and 6s Plus owners have complained about their devices randomly shutting down on Reddit and the Apple support communities. The issue sounds very familiar to theproblem affecting iPad Pro owners. If the bug is on the software side Apple will be able to fix it with a future update.
