The Pixelmator Team has updated its award winning image editing app with iPad Pro and Apple Pencil support. Pixelmator version 2.2 now features the ability to create and edit images up to 100 megapixels on Apple's newly released 12-inch tablet. The app also supports all the advanced features of Apple's new stylus, including palm rejection and more.
For iPhone 6s and 6s Plus users the update adds new 3D Touch features. The app now includes the ability to paint with 3D Touch-sensitivity, Home screen quick action menus and Peek and Pop capabilities. Users can perform a firm press on the Pixelmator icon on their Home screen to open shortcuts to their Pixelmator gallery, or to create a new image and open an image from Photos. A firm press while inside the app will allow users to quickly view an image and perform other tasks such as copying or deleting photos.
Pixelmator version 2.2 is now available for free to existing users. New users can download the app for $4.99 from the App Store. Pixelmator supports all devices running iOS 9.0 or later. The Apple Pencil only works with the iPad Pro, and 3D Touch is only available on the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus.
