Back in January the DigiTimes reported the next-generation 9.7-inch iPad would ship with 4K resolution, and today unnamed sources told 9to5Mac that the rumored 9.7-inch iPad Pro would be capabable of recording 4K video. The Apple blog also noted that the new iPad Pro would include a rear-facing 12MP iSight camera. This would be an improvement over the 8MP iSight camera found on the current 12.9-inch iPad Pro model and iPad Air 2.
Apple is expected to announce the new 9.7-inch iPad Pro at a keynote scheduled for March 21st. Rumored specs include an A9X processor, stereo speakers, Apple Pencil support and a Smart Connector for use with Apple's new Smart Keyboard. The iPad Pro will be unveiled alongside Apple's new 4-inch handset the iPhone SE and new Apple Watch bands, according to various unconfirmed sources.
Today the Chinese site My Drivers reported that Apple is also planning to launch an iPhone Pro in the fall. If the report is true, Apple will release three iPhone 7 models around September. The iPhone 7 is rumored to be 1mm thinner than its predecessor the iPhone 6s, and it will feature a few tweaks to give it a more streamlined design. These tweaks include losing the camera bump and 3.5mm headphone jack and the addition of a thinner Lightning port. A separate report published today by Macotakara, claims the iPhone 7 will include stereo speakers. This could confirm an iPad Pro model since the 12.9-inch iPad Pro model was the first iOS device to be equipped with four speakers.
