How do I take a Live Photo on my iPad?

Live Photos can only be taken on the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, iPhone SE and both iPhone 6s models, however all devices that are capable of running iOS 9.0 or later can view Live Photos. Live Photos are not videos. They're 3 second, 12MP animated images with sound. Here's how to snap a Live Photo on any capable device:

  1. Open the Camera app on your device.
  2. Tap the Live Photo button in the center of your display (It looks like a sun or circle with dots).
  3. Tap the Shutter button to take your Live Photo.

You can view any Live Photo using 3D touch on the iPhone 6s or 6s Plus, or by pressing down and holding the photo on any other device. You can identify a Live Photo because it will have the same Live Photo icon on the image.
