It has been almost three months since Feral Interactive announced that the 2004 hit PC game, Rome: Total War, would be coming to the iPad, but fans can finally relax because today the strategy game has received an official release date. The real time Roman battles will begin on the iPad starting on Thursday, November 10th.
Rome: Total War for iOS will be available at the premium price of $9.99, and it promises to be a port of the full PC original with new touchscreen controls. You can see a demo of the new controls here, in a video released by Feral Interactive in September.
Feral (via Touch Arcade) says that the game will support the "first generation iPad Air or newer, iPad mini 2 or newer, or any iPad Pro. It will also require just under 4GB of free space to install."
Rome: Total War is considered one of the best strategy games of all time, and has earned rave reviews for the Mac version released in 2010. In the game, players control one of the three great Roman houses as they compete to become one of the greatest emperors by conquering 50 provinces, gaining support from the people, and finally taking Rome. The game features 3D real-time tactical battles, the ability to upgrade conquered provinces and to control up to 10,000 soldiers on-screen at once.
Players must also balance economic, civil, religious and military power while trying to conquer more land and win the favor of the people.
