Apple has finally shown the iPad some much needed love by adding several new iPad-specific features to iOS 11. One of the more talked about additions are the new abilities found in the iPad Dock. iPad users running iOS 11 or later will be able to access the iPad Dock anywhere on their tablet. This includes the Home screen, App Switcher and even while using other apps. This means users can now easily switch between apps by simply swiping up from the bottom of their display at anytime on their iPad.
Swiping up on your iPad will open the Dock at the bottom of your display and allow you to access any stored apps. You can now store up to 15 apps and folders in your Dock instead of 6. This basically allows you to store an infinite amount of apps and makes navigating your iPad much quicker and smoother.
The Dock will also display up to 3 additional suggested apps based on what you recently opened, your location or Continuity. This includes apps you last opened on your iPhone or iPad, as long as they're all synced.
9to5Mac recently released a video walkthrough highlighting all the new features found in the iPad Dock. You can watch it below.
iOS 11 will be released on September 12 after Apple's iPhone 8 keynote at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park . Apple is also expected to unveil the iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus, new Apple Watch and Apple TV with 4k support.
