New iOS Games and Apps of the Week: Final Fantasy Dimensions 2

Ghoulboy

Oh Square Enix, why can't any of your sequels ever make any sense? Final Fantasy Dimensions 2 landed on the App Store this week, but it has nothing to do with the original Final Fantasy Dimensions. Final Fantasy Dimensions 2 is actually a US remake of the Japanese social RPG called Final Fantasy Legends. But FFD2 is a premium title, unlike FFD which is free. I'm going to guess this is why FFD2 has a 3-star rating, while FFD has manged a overall rating of 4-stars. If you want to check out Final Fantasy Dimensions 2 and don't care it is now a direct sequel, then it is available for $14.99 on the App Store.

Apple this week rejected an update to Astro HQ's Astropad Studio due to the addition of the iPad Camera Button. The new feature would have transformed the front-facing camera on the iPad into a workable button while using any Astor HQ apps. Apple's App Review Guidelines prohibit altering the function of standard switches on their devices.

Stranger Things the iOS game was was updated with new content the same day Stranger Things 2 hit Netflix. The update includes a new playable character, a new Hawkins High School dungeon and new quests. You can download Stranger Things the game for free on the App Store.

A new trailer for the platform title Ghoulboy has hit YouTube. The game is reminiscent of classic titles like Castlevania and Ghosts'n Goblins. Check out the trailer below.

SEGA released a trailer for a new Sonic the Hedgehog game for mobile devices.
