Capcom's Puzzle Fighter launching worldwide this week

Puzzle Fighter

Capcom today announced that Puzzle Fighter will be available worldwide for both iOS and Android later this week. Puzzle Fighter mobile is a sequel to the popular Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo. The new installment in the Puzzle Fighter series was built from the ground up for mobile devices. It features a new look, leaderboard support, guest account support, a Color Blind Mode option and more.

The original Puzzle Fighter title included characters from the Street Fighter series and Darkstalkers games. The mobile version gives players even more Capcom characters to choose from, including Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li from Street Fighter, X from Mega Man, Frank West from Dead Rising and more.

Players can choose their favorite Capcom character to face-off in explosive gem-crushing battle against other Capcom characters. Each character has their own cinematic special moves, strengths and benefits. Players can also choose two support characters to enhance their main character's abilities.

The game is played using a Tetris-like gem system to do battle. Players can strategically buildup gems to unleash combos to take down their opponent. Puzzle Fighter will include single-player and real-time multiplayer modes.

Capcom didn't announce an official date, but Puzzle Fighter will most likely launch around the 23rd. It will be free to download. You can learn more at puzzlefighter.com and check out the launch trailer below.
