Blockbuster Launches New On Demand App for iOS Devices

Blockbuster has had a rocky relationship with online streaming, but that hasn't stopped the rental company from bringing its On Demand service to iOS devices. Blockbuster on Demand was originally launched for Android, Roku and Samsung Smart TVs, but it didn't manage to make much of a splash. DISH Digital L.L.C. hopes the new iOS app will give its Blockbuster streaming service the push that it needs to keep the company alive.

iOS Movie Apps

Blockbuster on Demand allows users to stream thousands of movies in HD to any iOS device. There are no subscription plans, late fees, contracts or commitments. You just pay as you go... If you can get the app to work. My Blockbuster on Demand app keeps getting stuck at the start up screen every time I relaunch it. This might also explain why there are zero customer reviews in the App Store rating section.

March Madness 2013 Live App Free for the iPad and iPhone

Unlike last year's NCAA March Madness Live app which cost $3.99, this year's version is free to download. The only catch is users will need to use their cable provider login info to stream games airing on TNT, TBS and TruTV. Games aired on CBS will not require registration.

Google Launches YouTube Capture for the iPad

Google has brought its crusade against Vertical Video Syndrome to tablets by adding iPad support to its YouTube Capture app. The app, which was originally launched for the iPhone in December, is a quicker and easier way to capture videos and directly upload them to YouTube. The app requires that users hold their device in a horizontal position to work, in a effort to cut down on the amount of annoying vertical videos being uploaded to the internet.

Google iOS Apps

Users can now use the app to record and simultaneously upload video to YouTube, Google+, Facebook, and Twitter from their iPads and iPad minis. The app also allows users to set preferences for automatic color correction, video stabilization and location services.

Make Holiday Shopping Easier With Amazon’s Santa App

One of my favorite holiday traditions as a kid was using various store catalogues to create my Christmas wish list. I would neatly fold the pages and circle the toys I had to have creating an easy shopping guide for my mother. Every year she would turn into a living gift registry remembering what items my family and Santa bought to avoid duplicate gifts on Christmas morning. Amazon has decided to make things a little easier for parents this year with the new Santa App for the Kindle Fire and iPad.

Holiday iPad Apps

The app allows children to search through five-hundred thousand of the "hottest kid-friendly gifts" helping them create the ultimate holiday wish list. The choices are broken down into six categories: Music, Everything, Books, Video Games, Toys and Games and Movies and TV. The app also works as a gift registry, keeping track and removing items after they have been purchased. Parents can edit and approve the list before sending the Wish List link to family members and friends. I'm assuming grandma and grandpa will need their own iPad to participate.
