The new jailbreak theme is called iOS 6 icons for iOS 7 and it can be found under the BigBoss repo in Cydia. The theme allows you to convert your iOS 7 icons to iOS 6 icons. The tweak requires a jailbroken device running iOS 7 or later, and you must have Winterboard already installed for it to work.

Is it safe to download the iOS 7 jailbreak / evasi0n 7?

While jailbreaking your iOS device has become simpler and safer over the years there has always been a risk of bricking your phone or voiding your warranty. The iOS 7 jailbreak (evas0n 7) was also released in a cloud of rumors and controversy making some iOS users weary of installing it. The developers behind evasi0n have since addressed the rumors and responded to the controversy surrounding their partnership with the Chinese App Store Taig.

An untethered iOS 7 jailbreak is officially here, but its release is surrounded by a bit of mystery and controversy. It was previously reported that evasi0n 7 was released in haste in response to a report that someone close to the evad3rs had stolen the jailbreak and sold it to a private buyer. Soon after its release, Cydia app store creator Jay Freeman (@saurik) tweeted that he didn't have a chance to test Cydia on evasi0n 7, and he warned users to use it at their own risk.

A few hours after its release, complaints started popping up on Reddit that evasi0n 7 included the Chinese App Store Taig and a unofficial version of Cydia. This did not sit well with the jailbreaking community, which prompted the evad3rs to issue a written response to clear up the rumors. You can read the evad3rs full explanation of the events here.

iPad Jailbreak Tweaks

SwipeSelection is based off a concept video created by YouTube user Daniel Hooper. The idea was to make editing text on your iOS device easier by replacing the old tapping method with a more precise finger drag to move the cursor. The video and jailbreak tweak were so popular iPad fans started a campaign to have Apple officially add it to its next iOS update, but unfortunately Apple did not listen. Someone even tried to recreate SwipeSelection by releasing an official app, but it was met with negative reviews since Apple’s TOS prevents access to the global keyboard.

iPad mini and iPad 4 Already Jailbroken

While the East Coast was busy picking up the pieces after Hurricane Sandy this weekend, iOS developers MuscleNerd and Chpwn were concentrating on jailbreaking Apple's newly released iPad mini and fourth-generation iPad. The iPad mini was jailbroken by MuscleNerd only 24 hours after its release, and Chpwn announced he had cracked the iPad 4 on Monday. Both devices were released on Friday, November 2.

Fourth Generation iPad Jailbreak

Both the iPad mini and iPad 4 jaibreaks will remain failbreaks until more exploits can be discovered. This means these jailbreaks are not ready for public consumption. However, this proves the iPad 4′s new A6X chip can be jailbroken, and that progress is being made. Hopefully, it's only a matter of time before an untethered iPhone 5, iPad mini and iPad 4 jailbreak is available to the public.

Jailbreakers Blocked from Amazon Instant Video

iPad owners with jailbroken devices are finding themselves blocked from using Amazon's newly launched Instant Video app. A Verge reader discovered they could not access the app while using a jailbroken iPad running iOS 5.1.1. A customer service representative told the reader to contact the jailbreak provider for a solution.

iPad Movie Streaming

I'm sorry that the Amazon Instant Video service isn't yet working on your iPad.

The service is absolutely available to you. What we're finding is that this specific error is popping up for folks whose iPads have any kind of jailbreak installed. A jailbreak is a program installed on your device that lets you do stuff not necessarily supported by the manufacturer. For example, if Apple blocks access to fictional service provider Orange you can add a thing that gets around that block.

If you do not believe their device to be jailbroken, please see if you have any of the following apps installed on your iPad:

"Installer" ("Installer App" is okay, but just "Installer" is another version of the first, "APT".)
The presence of any of these indicates a jailbreak, and our service won't work. From the error message that you provided, it appears your device has been jail-broken. We are unable to provide any troubleshooting for your device.

You will need to contact the site or person where you received the jail-break for your device.

Popular Ayecon WinterBoard Theme Coming to the iPad

The popular high resolution WinterBoard theme ayecon is coming to the iPad. Ayecon adds amazingly detailed icons to your jailbroken device's Home Screen. This will be the first time the theme is available for the iPad since it requires a high resolution display to work. Unfortunately this means it will only support the new iPad.

iPad Winterboard Theme

Ayecon includes themes for all of your stock icons, popular third-party apps, jailbreak apps, the status bar, the wallpaper, Notification Center, plus more. The detail ayecon adds to your iPad's interface must be seen in person to truly appreciate it.
