SwipeSelection

SwipeSelection Pro Now Available on Cydia

The developer behind the popular iOS keyboard tweak SwipeSelection has launched SwipeSelection Pro. The pro version of the jailbreak tool has been rewritten for iOS 7 and adds a few new features users have been asking for.

As you can see from the screenshot above, SwipeSelection Pro now allows you to select what area of the keyboard you want the tweak to work with. It also adds the ability to set the sensitivity, swipe speed and disable the tweak by using a three tap gesture on the shift key.

Must Have iOS 6 Jailbreak Tweaks for the iPad and iPad mini: SwipeSelection

It's time to look at some must have iOS tweaks now that you've freed your iPad or iPad mini using the new evasi0n jailbreak tool. Our first tweak isn't a very flashy one, but it will make working or writing emails on your tablet so much easier you'll never want to go back to the old Apple way.

iPad Jailbreak Tweaks

SwipeSelection is based off a concept video created by YouTube user Daniel Hooper. The idea was to make editing text on your iOS device easier by replacing the old tapping method with a more precise finger drag to move the cursor. The video and jailbreak tweak were so popular iPad fans started a campaign to have Apple officially add it to its next iOS update, but unfortunately Apple did not listen. Someone even tried to recreate SwipeSelection by releasing an official app, but it was met with negative reviews since Apple’s TOS prevents access to the global keyboard.

SlideWriter iPad App Tries to Recreate Popular Jailbreak Tweak

SwipeSelection, based on Daniel Hooper's concept video, is one of the best jailbreak tweaks released this year. The tweak makes editing text on the iPad and iPhone much easier by allowing users to swipe instead of tapping for a more precise cursor drag.

iPad Applications

Studio Tentpole has attempted to recreate Kyle Howells’ jailbreak tweak with a new iPad app called SlideWriter. The $0.99 app allows users to swipe above the keyboard, instead of on the keyboard, to edit text. However, Christian Zibreg of iDownloadblog says the app isn't as good as Howells' version.

Jailbreak Tweak Makes Editing Text on the iPad and iPhone Much Easier

YouTube user Daniel Hooper created a concept video (see below) that demonstrated how editing text on an iPad could be easier. The jailbreak community quickly responded by releasing an iPad tweak based on his ideas.

iPad Jailbreak

SwipeSelection is so good that the jailbreaking community thinks Apple will add it to iOS in the future. The tweak makes editing text on the iPad better by allowing you to drag your fingers to move the cursor, and by adding the ability to select text by holding the shift key. You can use one finger for a more precise cursor drag, or two fingers to move faster. All of this is demonstrated in Hooper's concept video posted below.
