New iOS 6 Wi-Fi Bug Affecting Some iPads and iPhones

Some iPhone 4S and iPad 3 owners are reporting that their Wi-Fi is being "greyed out" or disabled after installing iOS 6. A thread about the issue on the Apple Support forums has already reached 93 pages. Users are reporting that their Wi-Fi settings are either disabled, or that they can't connect and are being forced to use a cellular data connection only. Early iOS 6 users did suffer from Wi-Fi issues when it was originally launched on September 19, however, Apple has fixed the problem. Two users have replied that Apple is aware of the new issue, but the Wi-Fi complaints are still piling up. The Apple Support thread has over 900 replies at the time of this post.

Logitech Announces Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for the White iPad

Logitech has finally released a white version of the Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for the iPad. Just like the black version, the white version acts like a cover for your iPad when closed, and allows you to easily type memos or emails by auto-waking the tablet when opened. The Bluetooth keyboard easily attaches to your iPad via a magnetic clip, and features 6-months of battery life on a full charge (based on an average use of 2 hours per day).

Apple Tells Retailers: Make Room for the iPad mini

It looks like Apple resellers and carriers are preparing for both the iPhone 5 and a new iPad to be released on September 21. Verizon has blacked out employee vacations from September 21 to September 30 in anticipation of a new iPhone, and multiple Apple Premium Resellers in Europe are clearing shelf space in anticipation of a new iPad.

One unnamed iPad retailer told MacRumors Apple had requested they set aside additional space for more iPads by September 12.

"One of the sources specifically cites September 12 as the Apple-imposed deadline for the adjustments to be made, while another source indicates that their store is already at work on tripling the amount of display space dedicated to the iPad. We're told that the emphasis on iPad display space is coming at the expense of Apple's Mac Pro and Mac mini computers, which are reportedly being removed from display entirely at these locations."

Popular Ayecon WinterBoard Theme Coming to the iPad

The popular high resolution WinterBoard theme ayecon is coming to the iPad. Ayecon adds amazingly detailed icons to your jailbroken device's Home Screen. This will be the first time the theme is available for the iPad since it requires a high resolution display to work. Unfortunately this means it will only support the new iPad.

Ayecon includes themes for all of your stock icons, popular third-party apps, jailbreak apps, the status bar, the wallpaper, Notification Center, plus more. The detail ayecon adds to your iPad's interface must be seen in person to truly appreciate it.

Apple to Release Updated New iPad This Summer?

The DigiTimes has restarted the iPad rumor machine by claiming Apple plans to release an "updated 9.7-inch iPad" this summer. The Times cited the Chinese blog Apple Daily as saying the new, new iPad will feature a "indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO) panel technology to allow the device to feature an even thinner design and longer battery life."

iPad Rumors

While a new revamped 9.7-inch iPad seems highly doubtful, Apple did quietly release an improved iPad 2 this year. There were also rumors that Sharp’s IGZO panels were going to be used for the iPad 3. Apple Daily said the panel supply for the new 9.7-inch iPad will be shifted from Samsung to Sharp.

Apple Investigating iPad 3 Wi-Fi Issues

Apple has finally responded to the iPad 3 Wi-Fi complaints piling up on the Apple Support forums.
