Walmart iPad Black Friday 2017

Updated: With the correct price.

It looks like $249 will be the going rate for the fifth-generation iPad on Black Friday. Both Target and Walmart will be offering the latest 9.7-inch model for $80 cheaper than its suggested retail price.

Walmart has released its Black Friday ad with sales from November 23rd to 24th. Black Friday begins in Walmart stores starting at 6pm. Other deals include an iPhone 6 for only $129, discounts on gaming consoles like the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, DVDs as low as $1.96 and more.

Walmart has rolled back the price of the original iPad mini to $199. The 16GB WiFi-only model normally retails for $249. The deal is available through walmart.com or at Walmart retail locations. There is no question that this deal offers big savings, but is it really worth buying the original iPad mini when the fourth-generation model is only a few months away?

One deal that popped up on Walmart.com is a PlayStation 4 bundle with Grand Theft Auto V and The Last of Us for only $399.99. This is a great deal considering the console itself retails for the same price, so you're basically getting two games for free.

Walmart customers will receive a free $30 gift card when they purchase a 16GB iPad mini model for $199. The original iPad mini is normally $249. The 16GB iPad Air will also be available for $397, with a $100 Walmart gift card. Apple iPad 2 Only $299 at Walmart

Walmart is offering $100 in rollback savings on Apple's 16GB Wi-Fi-only iPad 2 for the next 30 days. The retailer is also giving away up to $300 in store credit for older device trade-ins. Older model tablets are bringing in at least $100, which means you could potentially get an iPad 2 for $199. That's not a bad price if you're looking to nab a second-generation iPad, but it seems silly to buy an iPad 2 when you could get a newer iPad mini with Retina display for around the same price. Even the 7-inch 16GB Kindle Fire HD is cheaper at $199.

iPad 2 Sale

You can also trade-in your old smartphone and receive store credit towards a 16GB iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c or Samsung Galaxy S3/S4. The amount of credit you will receive depends on the condition of your old device, and the deal requires that you sign a new two-year agreement with AT&T or Verizon.

Walmart and Best Buy Announce iPad Black Friday Deals

So far it looks like Target will have the best iPad deal on Black Friday, unless you're looking for an older model. Shoppers who buy an iPad mini after Thanksgiving will receive a $100 gift card from Walmart, and Best Buy will be offering $100 off the 16GB iPad 2. Meanwhile, Target is offering the 16GB iPad Air Wi-Fi model for only $479, and they're tossing in an additional $100 gift card to sweeten the deal. If you count the free gift card, you can nab the latest iPad for $379, compared to paying $299 for an iPad 2.

iPad Black Friday Deals 2013

Other Walmart Black Friday deals include $75 gift cards with the purchase of the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s. Walmart also has the best deal on the iPhone 5c which will be $45 until December 1st, and the iPhone 5s is $189 with a two-year contract.

Best Buy will also be offering discounts on 32GB iPod touches, 16GB iPod nanos, all MacBook Air models, and select Pro models.

16GB Wi-Fi Only iPad Air $20 Cheaper at Walmart

Walmart will begin selling the 16GB Wi-Fi iPad Air for $479 beginning on November 1. That's $20 less than buying it directly from Apple, who is selling the tablet for $499. This is not the first time Walmart has discounted a new Apple product, the retailer is currently offering the iPhone 5c for only $45 throughout the holiday season.

Walmart also announced its new in-store trade-in program where customers can receive up to $300 for their current tablet. However, as we've highlighted before you can normally get a lot more money by selling your used devices to electronics re-sellers like Nextworth and Gazelle.

iPad mini Only $300 at Walmart [Deals]

Retailers seem to be clearing out iPads. Best Buy has put the iPad 3 on clearance, and now Walmart is selling the iPad mini for only $300. That's $30 less than buying it directly from Apple. This is also the lowest price we have seen for the 7.9-inch tablet since it was released last year.

iPad mini Deals

While this a good deal, you should remember that Apple is rumored to be working on an upgraded version of the iPad mini which could be released soon. However, the iPad mini 2 is only expected to get a small bump in the specs department, like better resolution, an upgraded processor, and more RAM. The next-generation device may also see a slight increase in cost. So if price is your main concern, you may want to take advantage of this sale now.

Walmart Brings Their Online Movie Streaming Service to the iPad, Closes MP3 Store

Walmart announced that they're closing their MP3 download store the same day they launched Vudu's movie streaming service for the iPad.

To avoid the restrictions of Apple's app store, the retail giant decided not to offer an iPad app. Instead the Vudu icon for your iPad home screen redirects you to the Vudu website, where you can rent or buy over 20,000 movies and watch them online. Rental prices start at $4 for standard definition to $6 for full high definition. I guess Walmart's low prices don't apply to the iPad. A copy of Beetlejuice goes for $9.99. You can probably find the same movie on DVD for $5 at a Walmart store, or stream it all month for the same price through Netflix.

Vudu also allows you to stream movies through other devices like Internet-capable HDTVs, Blu-ray Disc players and the PlayStation 3.
